There's only one day left until the deadline for the current fundraising target, the production team are currently £170 from the target of £9,000. If you can help please take a look at the merch and see if there's anything you'd like to treat yourself to, or if you have some spare change use the donate buttons to make a donation :)

On Location
A small bit of trivia... For anyone who's seen the latest Doctor Who Christmas special this week you may not have recognised them but "A Christmas Carol" shared two locations with Casimir Effect; the Coal Exchange and Mir Steel.

Fundraising update
There haven't been many items up for sale on eBay this month and as Gabriel Strange explains in his latest post this is because he's been laid up with flu. This means the Casimir team are currently £476 away from their target for 31st December. If you're able to you can help with donations or treat yourself to some merch take a look at the webstore or CafePress

New pics
Behind the scenes pics from day 10 of filming, these were taken at Mir Steel in Newport. There are a few shots of Zoe Mills as Alice and Gemma Lloyd as Iolanthe.

  • Dr Bob

  • Cast and Characters

  • Music

  • Progress of the film

  • Filming at the Coal Exchange

  • Q&A

  • If you want to listen to it rather than read it an audio file is available on the Casimir Effect website.

Finally, the last part of the Casimir Effect panel at Chicago TARDIS. This is the Q&A although it's mainly As as I couldn't hear the Qs ;)

    The Q & ACollapse )

Thank you for reading, if you want to listen to an edited version of the talk it's available on the website

This post covers the trials and tribulations of filming at the Coal Exchange (as well as little bit about Scene 15).

I haven't included pictures in this post, instead there are links to the relevant galleries on the Casimir Effect website.

Almost over now, all that's left for the next post is the Q&A...
    30 November 2010 @ 08:01 pm
This post covers the sections of the panel about the music for the film, progress of the film, and using local talent.

    Video and moreCollapse )

Still to come - filming at the Coal Exchange and the Q&A.
    28 November 2010 @ 08:16 pm
This is the section of the panel that covered the cast and characters (as well as Bob's hair), I've also included the discussion about John Jenner's (Alfred) appearance in Torchwood.

The panel discussed the characters while there was a slide show of stills from the film. I've included a couple of images here just so there's something to look at (can't promise that these are the same images as those used during the panel)
    Images and discussionCollapse )

Still more to come including; filming at the Coal Exchange, music, progress of the film, and the Q&A.
    27 November 2010 @ 10:35 pm
This is the first of the posts from the CE panel, a lot was covered and rather than keep you waiting ages whilst I typed it all up I'm going to post it in several chunks :)

Other posts will be covering the cast and characters, filming at the Coal Exchange, music, progress of the film, John Jenner's appearance in Torchwood, and Bob's hair... This post focuses on Dr Bob

The Casimir Effect session at Chicago TARDIS has now finished so the Bob and Alfred scene is available to watch online!!

    See scene 15Collapse )
The panel on Casimir Effect featured Gareth David-Lloyd, Lynnette Porter and Gabriel Strange. I'll be typing up some notes from the panel so there'll soon be more posts about Casimir Effect's appearance at Chicago TARDIS.
    25 November 2010 @ 08:02 pm
These could be the titles for the film, from the info in the latest post on the CE website there are more videos to come from the students at ATRiuM. (This video again features Paradox by Blue Gillespie)
    Video hereCollapse )

    Alice's coat
The leather coat that's worn by Alice (Zoe Mills) in the trailer is available to buy on eBay. As always even if you haven't got the money to buy the coat it's worth taking a look to see this gorgeous steampunk outfit.

The production team have announced the current fundraising total, with only 5 days to go they are £96 from this month's total. Why not see if there are any items on eBay or any merch that would make a good Xmas present ;)

Don't forget scene 15 from the film will be online on Saturday after being shown at Chicago TARDIS. The Chicago TARDIS screening is due to be at 11:00 local time so that should give some indication as to when the rest of us will get to see it.

    New pics
Behind the scenes pictures from day 7 and day 8 are now available on the website, they include shots of Dr Bob (GDL), Major Jones (Peter Williams), and Alfred (John Jenner)
